Description |
8" x 10" black and white reproduction of an illustration that is printed on photographic paper. There is type along the bottom of the illustration reading "The Basic City "Advance" Office." Along the top side of the building in the illustration it reads "Advance Steam Publishing House." The illustration is 1 of 3 that appear to be from the same source. From the Waynesboro Public Library website: The Advance began publication May 7, 1890 and ceased publication about 1925. From about 1923-25 the title of the paper was Shenandoah Valley News. Editors were James H. Lindsay (188), Lindsay and I.S. Haas (1891-1892), Haas (1892- ), and Hugh Russell Fraser ( - 1925). |
